We had a wonderful uncle, One who never really grew old; His smile was made of sunshine, And his heart was solid gold; His eyes were as bright as shining stars, And in his cheeks fair roses you see. We had a wonderful uncle, And that’s the way it will always be. But take heed, because He’s still keeping an eye on all of us, So let’s make sure He will like what he sees.
Dedicated to my uncle who lost the fight against cancer last month. I think he loved golf more than life itself, and now plays on the fairways of Augusta - if there is one in heaven. He always got up early to challenge the course, practiced hard to shoot lower scores, and supported me as a kid growing up in South Africa with the enthusiasm and drive to be who I am today. Thank you for the gift of golf.
